Slate makes learning intuitive for students in class 9,10,11,12; with interesting lectures, practice problems including board exam/NCERT/exemplar questions with solutions (detailed), timed tests etc.
Slate takes the most intuitive way to learning. We use the learning wheel.
1. Listen to lectures
2. Practice sets
3. Adaptive Based Learning Exercises (A.B.L.E)
4. Assess/Test yourself
Then, go to step 1 again depending on the results in step 4.
Subjects/courses launched:
· Math - Class 10
· Math - Class 9
· Basic programming (C++)
Subjects/courses launching soon:
· Class 11, Class 12
· Social studies - Class 10
What can I do in SLATE?
· Get introduced to subject topics with detailed lectures with lots of examples
· Practice problems
· Do numerous adaptive exercises
· Assess yourself with chapter tests
What is unique about SLATE lectures?
· We deconstruct each concept to very basic steps such that learning becomes intuitive for you. Our lectures are context-based; meaning the concepts are taught with situations (real life/fictional) that you can relate to and hence help to improve your engagement level.
· The teachers too may use the lectures as a template to frame their own scenarios to teach various concepts in the classroom.
What does SLATE do to ensure learning for me?
· We strongly believe that no learning is possible by passively listening to lectures (how ever awesome the lecture is!!)
· We take an integrated approach to learning. No learning is complete without lots of practice and assessment. So, we have curated practice sets, adaptive learning exercises and tests to enable students to learn actively by solving varied questions.
· We have added features like daily questions to inculcate a daily learning habit for students.
· An intuitive, student friendly and engaging user interface that adds to your learning experience.
Is there anything else in SLATE?
· Curricular lessons are our core.
· We will also be providing co-curricular courses. We already launched a short course module on “Basic-programming (C++)”; which is designed to act as a pre-requisite to the computer science subject in class 11. These courses will be chosen based on the students’ interests and requirements.
· We are also presenting podcasts based on various themes. How to write a math exam?, What is a ‘Formula’? and podcasts focusing on 9-10th standard curriculum Social Studies lectures.
· Apart from this, we will be updating our blogs on topics related to school, learning, examinations etc.
By the end of this year, our target is to provide:
about 200-300 hours of high-quality visual lectures on various subjects (math, physics, chemistry, computer science, social studies etc)
about 50,000 questions
cover 250-300 concepts
All subjects are developed and taught by academics who have studied in top colleges/universities like IIT-Madras, FMS - Delhi university, Western Michigan university & North Carolina State university.
